Degelman Industries LP is searching for an individual to join our team as a Quality Assurance Technician. Degelman Industries LP is a vibrant company in the agricultural manufacturing industry known for leading innovation and quality products. 

 

Reports To: Quality Assurance Lead
 

Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technician safeguards Degelman’s product quality through floor-level inspections, process audits, and non-conformance investigations. Collaborating across production, engineering, and supply chain teams, this role identifies quality gaps and drives effective corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to ensure every customer receives reliable, field-ready equipment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Capture quality information, such as control plan data, receiving inspection data, first-part inspection audits, surface profile and dry film thickness (DFT) reports, pre-delivery inspections (PDI), etc.
  • Respond to non-conformance reports (NCR) within 1 – 2 business days, coordinating the identification, containment and disposition of non-conforming material (repair, replacement, or use-as-is decisions).
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) on non-conformances in collaboration with production, engineering, and supply chain vendors. Document and implement CAPA.
  • Analyze quality data and key performance indicator (KPI) trends to identify systemic risks and recurring problems; escalate to QA Lead with supporting data.
  • Make quality status visible, maintaining reports and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Maintain and perform process audits to ensure quality standards are consistently met, and that corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) remain effective.
  • Perform routine calibration and documentation for all measurement tools.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives throughout the company.

 

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills. Able to deliver quality decisions calmly and clearly under production pressure.
  • Experience reading manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Enjoy problem-solving mechanical issues and coming up with practical solutions.

 

Preferred Skills & Knowledge

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology (Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical) or equivalent hands-on experience (formal credentials are not required if matched by relevant experience).
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS).
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies (5-why, Fishbone, etc.).
  • Skill in the use of inspection instruments (Calipers, Micrometers, CMM).
  • Good understanding of lean manufacturing principles (6S, Kaizen, TIMWOODS).

 

Work Conditions

  • Work Setting: Primarily on the production floor; some time in office/QA lab settings. Exposure to manufacturing noise, dust, and equipment typical of a metal fabrication and assembly facility. PPE required on the floor.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required (e.g., supplier visits, multi-site quality initiatives). Not a regular part of the role.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, standard 8-hour days. Flexibility required during production peaks or quality events.
  • Employment Term: Full-time, permanent.
